Orange Park is a suburb of the city of Jacksonville in the state of Florida and is a town that is part of Clay County. This municipality is only 11 miles away from Jacksonville and its population is only a little more than 9,000 during the 2000 census. The town’s name originated from the fruit but the orange trees were destroyed during the Great Freeze towards the end of the 19th century and the citrus industry in this suburb never recovered.
