While Nashville’s legendary status as a country music epicenter and the birth place of the “Grand Ole Opry” have made it a highlighted city in popular culture, its title as the “Athens of the South” hints at is immense network of Nashville colleges and universities. Additionally, as forty percent of the population in the 2007 American Community Survey identified as racial minorities, it is a city of cultural and entertainment diversity. Beyond the vibrant music and arts industries, Nashville boasts a number of film and music festivals, as well as museums, zoos, and a number of sporting arenas. Nashville’s humid and mild climate also makes it an enjoyable place to live.
