Many environmental degrees exist, both on campus and online, universities across the country. At the environmental science university, degree seekers can choose to pursue an environmental science degree at the bachelor’s and master’s level. A number of certificate programs also exist that serve to help environmental professionals refresh and specialize their knowledge in a particular area of interest. Environmental management programs are also popular at the environmental science university.

Courses for the environmental science degree will include the areas of ecology, physical geology, chemistry, physics, earth science, habitat integrity, biodiversity, microbiology, conservation, groundwater contamination, soil contamination, water quality, waste management, air pollution and atmospheric sciences, and sustainable energy and management.

Students at the environmental science university will learn to master skills of environmental assessment, particularly in collecting field study and data, as well as sustainable development and protection. Some other courses many include environmental policy and property rights, ecosystem analysis, conservation biology, physical hydrology, oceanography, geophysics, and environmental sociology.

Additionally, many degree seekers take coursework in public policy, political science, social science, economics, and landscape architecture, engineering, anthropology, and urban studies.
