Radiology Degree Description

The American Board of Radiology will be in charge of providing the necessary certification for radiologists, who may also seek to specialize further. For those with an associate degree in radiology, a potential career is that of radiology technicians, who are responsible for the operation of imaging devices, such as the equipment for getting X-ray pictures, magnetic imaging pictures, ultrasound images, and computed tomography (CT) scans. The radiology technicians cooperate with other members of a medical team, including nurses and physicians, in the taking of diagnostic images. Finally, graduates of radiology school can also become radiology technologists. They are responsible for applying specific doses of radiation to destroy cancer cells or tumors in patients.
