Colleges in Milwaukee

Milwaukee is more than just a city of breweries and manufacturing depots. Milwaukee is the largest city in Wisconsin, and the 23^rd most populated city in United States. The colleges in Milwaukee are diverse and plentiful and rank 6^th among highest per capita student populations in the United States and Canada. Milwaukee’s rich cultural history is rooted in the populations of German, Polish, and African American immigrants and migrants who settled there. Fifty-five percent of the population is reported as being a racial minority. Milwaukee is a beautiful city resting along the shores of Lake Michigan, with three rivers running through the city limits. Being part of the Great Lakes region, Milwaukee’s weather consists of hot summers and cold winters. Milwaukee is home to a varied collection of art, science, and history museums, as well as several sporting arenas and performing arts centers. It is also known as the “City of Festivals” for the wide variety of cultural and artistic festivals that are held within city limits throughout the year. The city also contains many parks and recreation areas, including several scenic routes along the rivers and Lake Michigan. 

While only 20 percent of Milwaukee residents have obtained bachelor’s degrees, its high student population and conglomeration of universities and colleges in Milwaukee, as well as technical and career schools, make it the perfect place to study. While beer brewing and manufacturing are two of the largest industries within Milwaukee, the health care and tourism industries are also booming and offer a wide variety of employment opportunity. The city itself, along with many of the Milwaukee colleges, also offer a number of career placement programs to help its citizens retain employment.
