With this online web-based learning system, the professor and students often communicate by means of email, instant messenger, fax and live conferencing in chat rooms. Online web-based learning exams are taken on the Internet and assignments are received either via email or through a webpage supplied by the instructor.
Computer-managed Instruction (CMI) – online web-based learning application that allows instructors to utilize computers to organize lessons and keep track of student progress. With the CMI online web-based learning method, lessons aren’t always presented via computer, but more often than not CMI and CAI are used in combination.
In the United States, online web-based learning options are nearly endless. Both private and public schools offer a wide range of courses and degree programs-bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, MBAs and technical or trade certifications-through their online web-based learning programs. But be warned: It is the responsibility of the student, as a consumer, to make sure that the school of his or her choice holds proper accreditation. Unfortunately, there are a number of fraudulent online web-based learning institutions that “reward” students’ hard work with worthless diplomas or degrees that hold no bearing in the real world, find an accredited online school.
